Dr Ismail Abdul Nabi; vice chancellor of Al-Azhar University, who came to attend International Mawild-un-Nabi Conference held under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran International in the Rabi-ul-Awwal, has chosen Minhaj University for the establishment of Co-ordination Office on behalf of Al-Azhar University due to old collaboration of both Universities.

The Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies of Minhaj University Lahore launched its PhD programme after the successful operation of M. Phil programme. The inaugural ceremony of PhD class was held in the College of Shariah and Islamic Sciences on December 23, 2009, which was presided over by Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, member of Board of Governors, MUL, and president of Federal Council of MQI.

The renowned educationist, researcher, intellectual, former Dean of Punjab University and Minhaj University respectively and Principal COSIS, Prof Dr Zahoor Ahmad Azhar, was the keynote speaker.

The Vice Chancellor of Minhaj University, Prof Dr Nazir Ahmad Romani, breathed his last on April 2, 2009. Dr Romani had a distinguished career in the educational field and served as Vice Chancellor of the University of the Punjab, Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan and the Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad before assuming his responsibility of Vice Chancellor of Minhaj University Lahore.
It is sadly informed that Vice Chancellor of Minhaj University Prof Dr Muhammad Nazir Romani passed away to the endless Mercy of his Gracious Lord.
The students of College of Shariah & Islamic Sciences (COSIS), presently undergoing studies in various programmes of al-Azhar University, arranged a prestigious ceremony to celebrate 58th birthday of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri on February 19, 2009. Sahibzada Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, president of MQI Supreme Council, presided over the programme.
